Training for ProfessionalsThe main goal of the training unit in the center is to connect the clinical knowledge about treating trauma to the needs in the field, those of trauma victims and those of the therapists. One of the main lessons we've learned is that an effective treatment of the consequences of trauma must include a direct reference to the event and its consequences. In many cases, both trauma victims and therapists are afraid of the difficulties in such reference and avoid it. Hence the importance of a specific training for treating trauma. The tools that are being thought in the training process car be used for treating people with post-trauma, but not only. Trauma is a common event in our lives. Many of those who turn to treatment do it in the period after experiencing a difficult event, and many times the trauma itself is not the declared reason for turning for treatment. Therapists who attended trauma treatment training are more skilled in recognizing symptoms of post-traumatic distress and can expand the treatment and deal with difficulties that come out during treatment.
