METIV Treatment Center

Metiv is the clinical division of ICTP. The unit offers the following treatment services:

1. Treatment for trauma victims
   These treatments are offered to people who have experienced a traumatic event, which continues to affect their functioning and emotional patterns.
   People may contact the center immediately after an event or a long time afterwards, even years later. We treat people who have experienced terrorist attacks, traffic accidents, assaults, combat, loss and other traumas.
2. Crisis intervention
   These treatments are offered to people undergoing a crisis due to an event or a chain of events that has upset their mental and emotional equilibrium and has impaired their functioning and quality of life, or caused them to feel helpless and incapable of coping with the situation. The people who turn to us for this treatment may have experienced a family or marital crisis, financial problems, diagnosis of a disease, loss of a job, or the breakup of a relationship.

The loss of emotional equilibrium due to a crisis may lead to many feelings including: loss of control, confusion, anxiety, depression, unexplained physical aches and pains, tension, oversensitivity, sleep disturbances, uncontrollable rehashing of memories, fears, social introversion, and impairment of other functions.

Those who contact the METIV are invited to a preliminary evaluation session, after which a therapist and a course of treatment is arranged for the individual.

METIV is staffed by a team of over 20 professional therapists with experience and expertise in the field of trauma and crisis. Our therapists utilize innovative techniques and provide information and tools to help people find the strength to cope and regain a sense of control and confidence in their lives. Our team of therapists is multi-lingual and can provide treatment in English, Spanish, Dutch and Amharic.

There is an immediate response to request for services, and every attempt is made to return calls within a day. There is a fee for treatment, with the provision of a sliding fee scale for those in need, at Metiv's discretion.
